This is the Phantom version of our deepest, blackest Soft Scales and Super Softs, which I used to make het Phantoms starting back in 2021, then started to breed those together in the 2023 season. We used het Phantoms produced by our BlackJack line Soft Scale projects almost exclusively, though I did add in some extra deep black females from other lines to keep genetic diversity strong.
On top of the base color being as black as it gets, the Empty Back gene is what adds to the highlighted pinning - and adding another copy of that will yield even more white on the pinstripe pattern, which absolutely pops on that black base. Between the Empty Back, Soft Scale and Whiteout laterals, there's a ton of room to move forward in the project in the next generation or two. The super soft and/or super EB versions of this will be insane...and then there's what you can do by adding genes like the Fire Hypo on a jet black animal (gunmetal anyone?).
