If you’re wanting to grow out some awesome geckos to breed later, or you want to raise up some geckos to sell for hundreds of dollars as adults, this is the grade you want and you cannot lose. These geckos also tend to do very well being resold as hatchlings, but the longer you raise them up, the better they'll look and the more they'll be worth.
2026 Ultra High-End Morphs
Below is a list of genes/projects you'll see in these groups. These are from our most current generations and from all the projects ACR is known for.
Het Empty Back Combos
This project is one that's going to make a huge impact on the entire market all at once because of how it played out here. We've produced enough of this gene that we can sell them at a variety of prices. What you'll see in the Ultras for 2025 will be Het Empty combos, which will have top notch colors and structure. Some of these will have Whiteout (het Whitewall) lateral markings.
Soft Scale & Possible Super Soft Combos
We’re producing some INSANE stuff with these genes. Soft scale is doing big things combined with lavender/black types and with the bright base colors. I have some nice stuff set aside for these packages that will blow you away as babies, and you’ll keep being blown away as you see them mature. Supers can be tough to pick out when they're this young compared to how obvious they are as adults, so I'm just saying "possible supers".
Pink-Red Base Color Combos
We have about half a dozen different lineages of pink/red ciliatus, all developed in-house starting anywhere from 15 years ago, to a little over 20 years ago. In that time they've been consistently outcross, with attention paid to appearance and lineage - the goal being to produce near-identical geckos from different lineages, so that we could breed them together - effectively giving us the most genetic diversity and the most consistent color possible.
Pink-Red Dalmatian & Super Dalmatian Combos
The Most Heavily Spotted Babies We Produce - Many, but not all, will become heavily spotted Super Dalmatians. You'll also start to see red spots and porthole lateral markings, as I'm working hard on a "Tri-Color Dalmatian" appearance on my Red Phantom Dalmatians. The idea here is to put red and black Dalmatian spots with Portholes on a pink/red Phantom.
C2 Project Combos - C2/Citrus & C2/Tangerine Line Yellows & Oranges
The BEST yellows and oranges on the planet, hands down. These will BLOW YOUR MIND as they grow...and the pattern combos are only getting better each season.
Lavender and Lavender/Black & Cream Project
The majority of our Ultras being shipped will have Whiteout Laterals and/or Tangerine Pigment, lots of soft scales in this variety as well. You'll also see the occasional visual het Empty Back in this color type.
Jet Black Halloween Harlequin and Halloween Tri-Color Projects
Some of the nicest color and structure you’ve ever seen. Many are Soft Scales. Empty Back is another gene you'll see in here, occasionally.
Top Shelf Phantom Combos
We are doing BIG things with the Phantom gene now and they are POPULAR. We're now getting lots of whiteout markings, great structure & color. You'll be impressed with how they look and at how popular they are with customers. A lot of our Phantoms are now carrying the Soft Scale and Harry line structure genes, which makes them a great platform to build on and to add to existing projects, whether it be to improve size/structure or add genes to.

New genes are known to pop up and end up being leaked in wholesale lots prior to and even after their discovery, in large collections like mine. In fact, this is one of the largest crested gecko collections on the planet, and by far the largest not tied to a large pet chain. I can't micromanage every unique appearance that I think might be caused by a gene I haven't nailed down yet - but I do keep some of that stuff back to play with. While I'm doing that, I pretty much just ignore the rest of them until I see something, or enough frequency of something popping up, that motivates me to get serious about proving out whatever I think it is. At this scale, not everything gets that much attention - I have to pick my battles, so I focus on the less subtle ones that I can more easily pick out in combos.
One look at what Korean, Chinese and Japanese breeders have done in recent years should tell us how many subtle and potentially powerful genes are floating around in US collections - genes we currently have no real clue about. Our Asian breeder brethren are working with the exact same gene pool we all have access to here in the United States. I know this because myself and another large-scale breeder (and longtime friend) have shipped a LOT of wholesale geckos to Asia over the past 5+ years and we've both seen the cool geckos they've been able to produce with our own lineages. These guys had no real established market in their respective nations, so they were willing to get a bunch of geckos and explore....exactly the same way I started back in the early 2000's (because that was literally the only option I had back then).
Disclaimer: I'm not saying proving new genes out is easy or for beginners, or that it's be for people who want to keep a small collection. It's none of that. You have to be in it for the long haul and you must be willing to raise and sell a number geckos in the process. It's a LOT of fun IF you know what you're signing up for and you're confident you'll see it through
PRO TIP: WHAT TO ORDER
- Breeders buying to raise up, look for unidentified genes & traits, etc.
I always recommend going cheaper and buying with no tails to maximize your breeding potential for the money - by that, I mean you're going to cover more bases in terms of morphs, and you'll have a better chance of getting some random gene leaked into your order (story of my life). By the time geckos this nice are adults, they'll be worth multiples of what you paid, regardless of tail or not. To put it in actual numbers, for the same price as 50 with tails, we could make you a custom 75x bundle.
- Vending Reptile Shows
I'd go with half plus with full tails...you'll have plenty of customers there who won't care about the tail, especially with the the price difference turning it into a bargain hunt on your table. :-)
- Pet Shops
For your typical pet shop or chain/franchise shop, I always recommend getting everything with full tails, assuming you're dealing with a lot of beginning hobbyists or first time keepers, crossover sales from other departments, etc. It's not worth trying to explain they're not really supposed to have a tail in the wild as an adult - unless you have the right staff for it.
- Reptile Specialty Stores
If you get a good mix of reptile nerds, you're probably dealing with more of the reptile show demographic - if that's the case, chances are you'll tend to do well with no-tails, so I'd probably try half and half.
